Til chutney (Sesame seed dip)

Sesame seed considered to be oldest oil seed crop; used almost everywhere in the world either whole or oil.  Japan is the world largest sesame importer. Sesame (ごまGoma) is one of the most important flavours of Japanese cuisine being used in many ways; as sesame oil for deep frying tempura, roasted seed for garnishing, popular condiment gomashio, salad dressing, and to create many delicious dishes with these seeds…

Above all I do fell in love; a type of vegetarian sandwich in which they use sesame seed sprout; I never ate sesame sprout in India. This gives me a boost to include sesame seed in our regular meal and to prepare this chutney (dip), sure to become your favorite too…

Ingredients:

  • Sesame seed: 100 gm
  • Garlic: 2 clove
  • Green chilli: 2-3 no.
  • Dressing vinegar: 2 tablespoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon (as per taste)
  • Water: as per requirement

Preparation:

  1. Dry roast sesame seed on medium low flame; stir them to roast evenly till it gets light golden brown in colour, keep aside.
  2. Chop green chilli and garlic roughly, keep aside.

Method:

  1. Put sesame, garlic, chilli and salt in mixer grinder; grind the ingredients along with water as required.
  2. Add vinegar, mix well. Now chutney is ready.
