Healthful Sweet poha (sweet beaten rice)

Mithila is the culture hub of Bihar and has its own beauty. Madhubani painting has its own popularity and Maithili people are sweets lover and use poha (beaten rice) in many ways i.e. poha-curd, poha-milk, fried poha and many more. Today I am going to upload a variation of poha.

“Healthful Sweet poha (sweet beaten rice)” is a light, refreshing, and nutrient-packed dish that combines the natural sweetness of fruits with the comforting texture of beaten rice (poha). This wholesome recipe is perfect for breakfast or as a mid-day snack, bringing together the goodness of apples, pomegranate, cherries, and carrots for a burst of flavour, colour, and vitality.

The best part is that you can easily customize it with seasonal fruits of your choice, making it both versatile and nourishing. With its balance of fiber, vitamins, and energy, this dish is not only tasty but also a delightful way to enjoy fruits in a creative and satisfying form.

It is very quick and super healthy breakfast, which is made without cooking and very healthy especially for children. You can never imagine how tasty it is! Sweets uplift your mood make you feel fresh and energized.

If basmati poha is not available, use normal poha. It will create the same magic.

Ingredients:

  • Poha (beaten rice):1 bowl (basmati poha)
  • Brown sugar/Jaggery: ½ cup (as per your taste)
  • Apple: ½
  • Pomegranate: ¼ cup
  • Carrot: 1 no. (Medium size)
  • Date: 3-4 no.
  • Cherry: 4-5 no
  • Cashew nut: 8-10 no.
  • Green cardamom: 2-3 no.
  • Ghee (clarified butter): ¼ teaspoon
  • Almond: 8-10 no.
  • Fresh scrap coconut: half cup

Preparation:

  1. Cut apple, carrot, date, cherry into small pieces, keep aside.
  2. Chop cashew nut and almond into thin slices, keep aside.
  3. Peel off cardamom and make fine powder, keep aside.
  4. Wash poha properly, two times. Soak with little water (About 50 ml/5 table spoon).
  5. Cover it and leave it for about 10-12 minutes.

Method:

  1. Take a mixing bowl; put all ingredients, mix them well, Healthful Sweet poha (sweet beaten rice) is ready to be served.
