Sometimes we are very confused and in dilemma as what to prepare in the meal; “Paneer masala curry” is classic Punjabi recipe can be prepared easily…which tastes awesome, great satisfying meal when combined with some plane rice or paratha.
Protein from Paneer is superior and very much required for vegetarian, it contains skin glowing properties too; a vegetarian must have at least once in a week, good for strengthen your nails and hair.
Ingredients
- Onion: 1 no (medium)
- Tomato: 1 no. (medium)
- Green chilli: 2 no.
- Garlic: 5 cloves
- Ginger: 2 inch piece
- Paneer/soya paneer/cottage cheese: 200 gm
- Oil: 4 table spoon
- Salt: one teaspoon
- Cumin seed(jeera): 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder: half teaspoon
- Red chilli powder: half teaspoon
- Turmeric powder: half teaspoon
- Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
- Cashew nut:10-12
- Cinnamon:1” stick
- Clove: 3-4 no.
- Green cardamom: 1 no
Preparation:
- Grind the onion, ginger, green chilli and cashew nut together as smooth masala paste. Keep aside.
- Grind tomato, keep aside.
- Cut the paneer in 1 inch cube, keep aside.
Method:
- Take fry pan, put oil: when oil starts to smoke, put cumin seed, cinnamon, clove and green cardamom, sputter it for few seconds, add the masala paste.
- Stir fry these masala about 3-4 minutes on medium flame; add tomato paste red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
- Continue to fry for couple of minutes or till masala dried up; add 1 cup of hot water and boil it.
- Add paneer, boil for a minute, put off the flame. Transfer into serving bowl. “Paneer masala curry” is ready to be served.
