It is very delicious and easy to cook in less time.
We can prepare this dish on the occasion of kitty party and serve this to family and friends.
Bhaji can be made in advance and reheated.
Ingredients:
- Ladi pav: 1 packet
- Potato: 200 gm.
- Cabbage: 200 gm.
- Fresh coriander leaves: 50 gm.
- Capsicum : 1 no. (Big size)
- Tomato: 2-3 medium size
- Green chilli : 2-3 no.
- Onion: 1 no. (Medium size)
- Fresh green Peas: 50 gm
- Ginger: 2” piece
- Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Butter: 200 gm
- Lemon: 1 no.
Wet masala:
- Garlic: 5-6 flakes
- Red chilli: 10-12 no.
Dry masala:
- Coriander: 1 tablespoon
- Bay leaf: 2 no.
- Cumin seed: half teaspoon
- Black pepper: 10-12 no.
- Clove: 5-6 no.
- Kala namak (black rock salt): half teaspoon
- Ajwain: half teaspoon
Preparation:
- Peel off potato and chopped roughly, Chop cabbage too; boil/ microwave the potato and cabbage together, roughly Mash both ingredients together with masher. Keep aside.
- Chop onion, tomato, ginger green chilli and fresh coriander leaves into small pieces. Keep aside.
- Deseed red chilli and soak into water for half an hour; grind this chilli with garlic and make smooth paste. Keep aside.
- Dry roast all dry masala ingredients, let it cool; grind all dry masala ingredients together. Keep aside.
Method:
- Take a fry pan, heat oil and 50 gm butter in it; add onion, Ginger, and green chilli, stir fry on high flame for couple of minutes or until onion become light brown in colour.
- Add peas and continue to cook for a minute or until half done; add capsicum and cook on high flame for a minute or until just done.
- Add tomato and cook on medium flame until it become soft(about 3-4 minutes); add salt and half of the wet masala.
- Stir properly, continue to fry on medium flame 2-3 minutes; add boiled and mashed potatoes and cabbage, mix well, mash all these with masher.
- Now add dry masala and 50 gm of butter; cook for couple of minutes.
- Transfer into serving bowl. Now yummy bhaji is ready.
For serving pav–bhaji:
- Take a pair of pav, slit it into centre.
- Apply wet masala, keep aside.
- Take a non stick fry pan. Put butter on this.
- Put ready pav and roast from all sides.
- Now, transfer this pav into serving plate.
- Serve bhaji with lots of Butter and lemon pieces. Yummiest! “Pav bhaji” is ready to be served.
