A Phalahari Thali is a special meal (that has some dietary restrictions) observed during Hindu fasting periods like Navratri or Ekadashi. “Phalahari” refers to a diet where only fruits, vegetables, nuts, and certain grains are consumed, avoiding grains like rice and wheat as well as common salt.
This “Phalahari Thali 11” is not only prepared with religious guidelines but also focuses on maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.
In my recent preparation of a Phalahari Thali, I included “Amaranth Paratha”, made from amaranth flour which is permissible during fasting and is high in fiber and protein.
To accompany the parathas, I served “Peanut Chutney” added a spicy and crunchy texture, providing essential fats and flavours.
An innovative Avocado Tapioca Pearl Drink, which combines the creaminess of avocado with the chewy texture of tapioca, making it both refreshing and filling.
The inclusion of fresh fruits like apples and dates brings sweetness and freshness to the meal, making the thali a harmonious blend of taste and health, perfect for the fasting days.
Phalahari Thali 11 consists of:
