On the sacred occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, in our parents home; it is our family tradition to observe Satvik food practices where rice and pulses are not consumed on this day.

Instead celebrated this festival with a simple yet wholesome meal (Thali) prepared without onion and garlic, keeping in line with traditional Satvik practices.

The thali includes Seveiyan (Sweet Vermicelli Kheer), Small Ridge Gourd Sabji (Satputia ki Sabji) cooked with mild spices, and hot Poori. Each dishes carry its own significance; Seveiyan adds a sweet touch of festivity, Ridge Gourd Sabji brings lightness and nourishment, while Poori symbolises auspiciousness and fullness in the meal. Together, this thali reflects purity, devotion, and the joy of festive feasting.

The poori is prepared with dough made using milk instead of water, which gives it a soft texture and rich taste.

The sabji of small ridge gourd is cooked in deshi ghee, bringing out a delicate aroma and traditional Satvik flavour.

This wholesome combination not only follows the ritual purity of the occasion but also reflects devotion, simplicity, and the joy of celebrating the festival in its true essence.
