“Phalahari peanut chutney” is a vrat-friendly accompaniment that brings flavor and nutrition to fasting meals. Prepared with roasted peanuts, a hint of green chilli, rock salt; perfect to pair with vrat dishes like Sama Rice Idli, Sabudana khichdi or Kuttu ke Paratha.
Peanuts are not only delicious but also rich in protein and healthy fats, making this chutney a wholesome choice for days when food options are limited. Its creamy texture and earthy taste balance the simplicity of fasting recipes, turning even a plain meal into something satisfying and flavorful.
Ingredients:
- Peanut: ½ cup
- Curd: ½ cup
- Sugar: 1 teaspoon
- Green chilli: 1 no.
- Ginger: 1” piece
- Lemon: 1 no.
- Sendha namak/rock salt: ½ teaspoon (as per taste)
Preparation:
- Dry roast peanut, discard the skin keep aside.
- Chop green chilli, keep aside.
Method:
- Put all ingredients for the chutney in mixer except lemon, grind into paste. Now chutney is ready.
- Add lemon juice, mix well. Phalahari peanut chutney is ready to be served.
