“Banana chaat ( Kela chat)” is a simple, healthy and refreshing dish. It is made using ripe bananas and seasonings.
This is light on the stomach, naturally sweet, and full of energy. It can be enjoyed as a quick breakfast, a mid-day snack, or a side dish with meals. Banana is rich in potassium and fiber as well as nutritious and satisfying.
It is quick to prepare and does not require cooking, with the addition of spices, lemon juice, and sometimes peanuts or pomegranate, banana chaat becomes a delightful balance of sweet, sour, and spicy taste. It is not only delicious but also nutritious, providing instant energy and freshness.
In this banana chaat, I used lemon juice and honey to create a perfect balance of tanginess and mild sweetness.
Dry mint powder adds a refreshing aroma, while garam masala gives a warm and flavourful touch.
A pinch of red chilli powder brings gentle heat, and black salt enhances the overall taste with its unique flavour.
Together, these ingredients make the banana chaat very refreshing, tasty and enjoyable.
Ingredients:
- Banana: 5-6 small size Banana (I used 300 gm of ilaichi banana)
- Honey: 1 tablespoon
- Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon
- Red Chilli Powder: 2 pinch
- Mint Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Garam Masala: 1 pinch
- Black Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt: 2 pinch (as per taste)
Preparation:
- Peel off banana; chop into 3mm (approximately) slices, keep aside.
Method:
- In a serving bowl; add all ingredients and mix, Banana chaat ( Kela chat) is ready to be served.
- Serve the chaat in serving bowl with fork and enjoy the healthy recipe.
