Lycee/ Litchi Raita is an ideal choice when you want something simple yet special, works beautifully for festive lunches, get-togethers, as a light cooling side dish during the warmer months. Litchi Raita is not just a side dish, it’s a delightful way to add a fruity flavour to your plate.
It is a refreshing and mildly sweet twist on the classic Indian yogurt-based side dishes. Combining the natural sweetness and juiciness of litchi with the cooling creaminess of curd, this raita offers a unique flavour that’s both soothing and perfect for hot summer days.
This dish brings a fruity surprise to traditional meals and pairs wonderfully with spicy biryanis, parathas, or even light pulao.
The litchi add a burst of sweetness, while the chilled curd balances it with a smooth and tangy base.
When I prepared Litchi Raita, I added a handful of chopped walnuts, cranberry and cashew nuts to give it a rich and nutty texture. The crunch of these nuts beautifully complemented the soft, juicy litchi.
This small twist not only enhanced the taste but also made the raita feel more festive and wholesome. The combination of creamy curd, sweet litchi and roasted nuts turned out to be a refreshing yet luxurious addition to the meal perfect for impressing guests or simply enjoying a special touch in everyday lunch.
