Sama rice kheer (phalahari recipe)

Ingredients:

  • Sama rice: 50 gm
  • Ghee: 5gm (1teaspoon)
  • Milk: 1 liter
  • Sugar: 100gm (2 serving spoon)
  • Green cardamom powder: 1teaspoon
  • Almond: 12-15 no.
  • Cashew nut: 50 gm
  • Dry grapes: 20-50 gm.

Preparation:

  1. Clean and wash rice. Keep aside in a sieve.

Method:

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a wok.
  2. Add washed rice and fry for 3-5 minutes.
  3. The moment some of rice begins to change color, add milk and Stir.
  4. Cook it on lower flame.
  5. Continue it into 30-35 minutes. Stir it every 5 minutes.
  6. When rice is done and become soft.
  7. Add sugar, green cardamom powder, almond and cashew nut.
  8. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, so that all flavor get mixed together and proper consistency come.
  9.  Put off the flame.
  10. Let it be cool, then add dry grapes (kismis) ,
  11. Serve it into serving bowl.
  12. Keep it into refrigerator for an hour or two.
  13. Now, cold Sama rice kheer is ready to serve.
