The taste is delicious on its own, but it goes well with sesame seed chutney/ groundnut chutney.
Oats are an excellent source of manganese, selenium and the vitamin B, it helps to skin and collagen repair.
Vegetables carry the plant power of photo chemical which make the skin glow.
Ingredients:
- Quick cooking oats (oat’s flakes): 1 cup
- Carrot: 1 no. (Medium)
- Beans: 4-5 no.
- Cabbage chopped: 1/3 cup
- Water: 2 cup
- Refined oil: 2 tablespoon
- Onion: 1 no. (Small)
- Green chilli: 4-5 no.
- Urad dal: 1 teaspoon
- Chana dal: 2 teaspoon
- Dry red chilli: 1 no.
- Curry leaves: 10- 15 no.
- Mustard seed: half teaspoon
- Cashew nuts: 8-10 no.
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Sugar: half teaspoon (optional)
- Butter: 2 teaspoon (optional)
Preparation:
- Chop onion into small pieces.
- Slit green chilli longitudinally, remove seeds.
- Chop carrot, cabbage and beans longitudinally. (Make Julian)
- Dry roast oats till it turns slightly brownish. Keep aside.
Method:
- Heat oil in nonstick fry pan, Fry cashew nuts on medium low flame for couple of minutes and take it out. Keep aside.
- Fry green chilli and take it out immediately.
- Add chana dal, urad dal, whole red chilli and mustard seed; sputter for few seconds until it gets golden in colour, add onion and curry leaves.
- Saute on medium flame till all become soft and translucent; add vegetables and saute over high flame for couple of minutes.
- Pour hot water, when water starts boiling; add sugar, dry roasted oats and salt.
- Stir occasionally, after drying water.
- Put off the flame; serve after 5 minutes.
- Just before serving add butter and transfer into serving bowl.
- Decorate with cashew nut, fried green chilli and pomegranate.
- Serve hot as a snack or as a part of main meal.
