I Served the “Jumbo Tiger Prawn Peas Masala” on a fresh banana leaf, which added a beautiful touch of tradition and elegance to the dish. The vibrant colours of the prawns and peas looked even more inviting against the natural green backdrop and the gentle aroma of the banana leaf enhanced the overall experience.

This simple presentation made the meal feel festive and special, transforming an already flavourful dish into a visually stunning and memorable serve.

Ingredients:

  • Jumbo Tiger Prawn: 2-4 no. (500 gm).
  • Peas: 100 gm.
  • Onion: 2 no. (Medium size)
  • Tomato: 2 no. (Medium size)
  • Ginger: 2” piece
  • Garlic: 1 pod
  • Salt: 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Green Chilli: 2-3 no.
  • Cumin: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Bay Leaf: 2 no.
  • Curd: 2 tablespoon

Preparation:

  1. Clean and wash the prawn.
  2. Cut outer edge prawn’s back. You can see intestine of the dorsal part of the body (vein).
  3. Remove and discard the vein runs along right under the surface of back, with your finger or tip of knife
  4. Add curd; Leave it for 7-10 minutes. Again wash the prawn drain out all the water.
  5. Chop onion and tomatoes into small pieces, keep aside.
  6. Grind garlic, ginger and green chilli to make fine paste, keep aside.

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan till  it smokes; add bay leaf and cumin, sputter for few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onion, stir  fry on high flame (About 2-3 minutes) add ginger, green chilli and garlic paste, continue to fry for a minute.
  3. Add peas; continue to fry for couple of minutes.
  4. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and chilli powder, fry for a minute on low flame.
  5. Add prawn, continue to cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame with lid on.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes; reduce flame to low, cook for 4-5 minutes or until tomatoes gets messy and gravy becomes thick and oil comes on top.
  7. Put off the flame; add garam masala powder.
  8. “Jambo Tiger Prawn Peas Masala” is ready to be served with Steamed Rice.
