Aamras dessert (mango pulp/mango puree)

Aamras it nothing but is a pulp of mango fruit eaten in India, popular dessert from Rajasthani cuisine. It is also served in the Guajarati, Marathi homes, especially during festive season.

Ingredients:

  • Mango (Ripen): 4 no. (800 gm)
  • Sugar: 4 tablespoon (as per your choice)
  • Milk/water: ½ cup (as per consistency)
  • Green cardamom: 4-5 no.
  • Almond: 6-7 no.
  • Saffron: 1 pinch

Preparation:

  1. Peel off mangoes, cut into pieces, discard seeds, and put the pulp in to blending jar, blend it along with sugar and saffron till fine paste.

Method:

  1. Transfer this paste into serving bowl; decorate with dry fruits and saffron, Aamras dessert (mango pulp/mango puree) is ready to serve with poori/chapati (Indian bread).
