Kanya Poojan Thali During Navratri

Kanya Poojan Thali during Navratri

During the sacred festival of Navratri, Kanya Poojan; the ritual of worshipping young girls as forms of Goddess Durga is  deeply cherished tradition in our home. To honour and serve the nine forms of Devi symbolised by the nine girls,

I prepare a special “Kanya Poojan Thali” filled with devotion and sattvik (pure) flavours, completely free from onion and garlic.

For this year’s thali, I included a variety of traditional dishes as “Dry Kala Chana”, “Moong Dal Kachori”, “Poori”.

The sabji were soul-satisfying; “Aloo Tamatar ki Sabji” and “Pumpkin Sabji”.

For desserts and cooling elements, I made “Sooji Halwa” and “Boondi Raita” to balance the flavours.

A fresh “Salad” added crunchiness, and the meal was rounded off with “Vegetable Pulao” prepared without onion and garlic.
