“Cabbage Aloo (Potato) ki Sabji” is a classic Indian vegetable dish. This simple yet delicious sabji is a staple in many Indian households, cooked with a blend of aromatic spices like cumin, turmeric, and coriander, this dish is a delightful accompaniment to Roti, Paratha, or Rice.
I added fresh cream to bring a rich and creamy texture to the dish. The addition of fresh cream elevates the simplicity of cabbage and potatoes, giving the sabji a luxurious, velvety finish.

Cabbage Aloo ki Sabji is not only nutritious but also a comforting and satisfying dish that can be enjoyed as part of a daily meal or served at special occasions.
Ingredients:
- Cabbage: 200gm
- Potato (Aaloo): 2 no. (Medium size)
- Mustard oil /cooking oil: 50 gm
- Asafoetida: 1 pinch
- Dry red chilli: 1 no.Green chilli: 1-2 no.
- Ginger: 1”piece
- garlic: 2-3 flakes
- Cumin seed: half teaspoon
- Fresh cream (malai): 1 tablespoon
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
Preparation:
- Take cabbage and cut into very small pieces with knife or food processor.
- Chop potato into small cubes.
- Chop garlic, green chilli and ginger into very small pieces.
- Chop red chilli also.
Method:
- Take fry pan, put oil, heat and add potato, deep fry for approx. 5 minutes (till potato becomes tender).
- Take it out, and keep aside.
- Remove extra oil from fry pan leaving only three table spoon.
- When it smokes add cumin seeds, asafoetida and red chilli.
- Add garlic and ginger, stir and fry (keep it stirring otherwise it may burn).
- Add chopped cabbage and fry (about 5 minutes).
- Now put the chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.
- Also add fresh cream. Stir well, lower the flame.
- Cover it for few minutes till cabbage becomes tender.
- Add potatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes, cover and lower the flame.
- Cabbage aaloo ki sabji is ready for serving.








Nutricious and healthy cabbage potato sabji is ready to serve with chapati/ paratha or rice.
