Flax seed/ linseed (Teesee) are rich in omega-3, essential fatty acids found also in fish, incredibly important for the health of our body, brain and skin too. It also boosts immunity to prevent disease.
Tips for consuming flax seed can be chewing after meal, or can be used as seasoning dal/curry along with cumin; my favorite way is to eat as chutney.
I would like to upload today “Teesee chutney (Flex seed chutney)” spiced with ginger, green chilli and herbs (mint leaves); you can use any herb; coriander leaves, cilantro or parsley. This dry chutney can be served with Indian Bread or Rice…
This is so awesome in taste; I prepared it twice in one day…
Ingredients:
- Flax seed: 100 gm
- Green chilli: 1-2 no. (As per taste)
- Onion: 1 no. (Small)
- Ginger: 1” piece
- Lemon: ¼ no.
- Mint leaves: 10-12 no.
- Salt: half teaspoon
Preparation:
- Take a wok, dry roast flax seed on medium- low flame till it swell up and colour changes a bit, allow cooling. Ground till it just becomes powder (don’t try to make fine powder, else it will become oily), keep aside (you can store this for several weeks in air tight container).
- Finely chop onion, ginger, green chilli and mint leaves, Keep aside.
Method:
- Take a mixing bowl, add all ingredients together and mix well; chutney is ready.
